Summer by the River: Family Week: Secret Squirters

Take back control of your streets with this very wet and very silly interactive installation! Unleash your inner Bash Street Kid! Assert your democratic right to get everyone just a little bit wet! This year local champions of outdoor arts, Bureau Of Silly Ideas, are causing beautiful, controlled chaos in the public realm at Summer by the River.
Based in Brixton and working across the UK, the Bureau of Silly Ideas creates street theatre, public art, and participatory projects rooted in place and people. Their work lives outside traditional venues, meeting audiences in the streets, on the pavement, and in the middle of daily life. From small moments of unexpected joy to large-scale spectacles, they use humour and invention to make public space feel more human, welcoming, and alive.
They collaborate with communities, artists, councils, festivals, and organisations to shape work that responds to its surroundings. Whether creating joyful disruption, quiet encounters, or shared moments of wonder, their aim is always the same: to turn the mundane into something meaningful - and invite people to be part of it.
